EVENT: SITE VISIT AT MBC HQ, Trianon
We are pleased to inform you that the MCB team and the Contractor on the project 'General Construction Co. Ltd' (through Mr. Edgar Julienne and Mr. Jayesh Desai ) have confirmed to IEM's request for a site visit to the MCB building under construction at Trianon. As you are aware this is an interesting architectural and engineering work which departs from the trend of having a vertical block as an office tower. The date and timing is Thursday 11 March 2010 at 10.30 hours. Kindly note that the Construction team will be able to receive and accommodate only 20/22 visitors for the site visit . Please confirm early by latest 10 March 2010 so that we can make necessary arrangements at our end. Our list will be prepared on a 'first come first serve' basis.

This year the focus of the IEM Journal will be on Sustainable Development in the context of Maurice Ile Durable, and we will welcome contributions in the forms of case studies, research outcomes, or views of IEM members and other knowledgeable persons on the subject area. We will appreciate if you could inform the Editor by email your intention to contribute to the IEM Journal by 30 April 2010. IEM Council has already embarked on its 2010 edition of Essay Competition among the Form VI (lower) college students. The theme proposed this year is "The Contribution of Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) to the realisation of Maurice Ile Durable".

JOINT IEM - UOM Best Final Year Engineering Project The Award Ceremony for held on Tuesday 15th September 2009 at the University of Mauritius. the fisrt prize was awarded to student DINNOO Ramkumarsingh for his project: " Design and Implementation of a DCT-based Watermarking Scheme using FHSS, Luminance and Spatial Masking". ________________________________________________________________
ENGINEERS HOUSE Government has reviewed the land allocation in the Reduit triangle. The land promised to IEM has been taken back for other priorities. Government has promised to IEM another plot in some other areas. Further development will be communicated to members as soon as available.
